About the event

Candle Lighting & Survivor Speak Out is our powerful way to stand alongside survivors and show them they are heard and believed.

On Thursday 14th October 2021 fwe will come together to take part in the virtual candle lighting ceremony alongside survivors, their supporters, and allies. Sexual violence is a dark subject, often shrouded in secrecy and isolation for victim/survivors. By lighting candles, we can start to shed light on the subject and show our support and celebrate the strength and courage it has taken people all over the world to survive the sexual violence that has been perpetrated against them.

You are invited to join with us and be part of this beautiful community event.

How you choose to participate is limited only by your imagination.

Hold your own small candle lighting ceremony in your workplace or home, take a photo of a place or item that reminds you of the power of believing, send in a recording of a poem, song lyrics or your own survivor speak out.

The only thing that matters is that we are all connected and we Start By Believing.

We'd love to see your light shine on Thursday 14th October.
