Many people understand that sexual violence is a serious community problem, and in recent years we have seen a huge effort in raising awareness. Now that people are more aware of the issue and are talking about sexual, domestic, and family violence we need to take ACTION!
We know that people want to do something to create change but may not believe their actions can make a difference. This October we are calling on all Queenslanders to Lead The Change To End Sexual Violence and share the #1Action they are taking to contribute to this shift.
The #1Action message unites our individual voices into the power of collective action
Each one of us can be a leader in our families, sports clubs, faith communities, workplaces, and social media platforms. Your #1Action can inspire others to take #1Action. Imagine if every Queenslander took #1Action - that’s 5.3 Million actions to end sexual violence.
Sharing your #1Action, can help LEAD THE CHANGE TO END SEXUAL VIOLENCE by:
Promoting the value of each action, no matter its size, to people in your sphere of influence
Recognising the power of sharing our #1Action as an effective strategy for prevention
Bringing attention to the strength and perseverance of change makers in the face of challenging times
Showing the impact we can have on both individual and community journeys of healing and resilience
AWARENESS + ACTION = SOCIAL CHANGE

You can also download materials for the month to help spread the message.
There are many ways to raise awareness and show your support for Sexual Violence Awareness Month.
We encourage you to host your own events as well as join in on the events being held by Centres Against Sexual Violence around the state.
