REFERRAL

Creative Design

Referrals come from a number of places. There are currently formal referral pathways in place with Queensland Police Service and local hospitals.

Self Referral

Sexual Violence Program

If you are 14 years or older, living on the Gold Coast and have been subjected to sexual violence that is impacting you, you don't need a referral from a doctor or other practitioner to access this program. You can call us directly during business hours (Mon-Frid, 9am-5pm) to discuss completing an intake. Ph: (07) 5591 1164

Women's Health & Wellbeing Program

You will need a formal referral to this program that is accompanied by a Risk Assessment and Safety Plan. In some circumstances we may accept self-referrals to this program.

Friend/Family Referral

Sexual Violence Program

If you making an enquiry on behalf of someone else, we are happy to answer your questions and provide any information that will be useful. However, we cannot proceed with an intake or book an appointment without first speaking to the victim/survivor.

Please note, we are unable to provide client details to unauthorised people. This also includes information about whether or not someone is a client of our service.

Practitioner Referral

Sexual Violence Program

If you are a counsellor, school based youth health nurse, or a staff member at another organisation making an enquiry on behalf of a victim/survivor, we will need the client's verbal consent to proceed with the intake process.

In this intake we will collect information including safe contact details, availability, and any other details that might help us support your client.

You may choose to do a supported referral with the client in the room, where we will speak to you both at the same time. Please be aware that you may need to pre-arrange this as we cannot guarantee an intake worker will be available when you call.

If the person you are referring is under 16 years and was assaulted by an adult over 18 years, or they are now older but experienced the assault whilst under the age of 16 years, we request that you are familiar with the new reporting legislation and have taken the appropriate action prior to referring the client for an intake.

Women's Health & Wellbeing Program

If you are wanting to refer your client to the Women's Health & Wellbeing Program you will need to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before completing a referral form.

Please email intake@stopsexualviolence.com for a copy of this form.

Unfortunately demand for our service is high and we may not be able to book women in for an appointment straight away, but we will prioritse those who have been subjected to a recent rape.
